Extended Hours expanding in June 2017

We are delighted to report that as a member of the "South Reading Alliance" Pembroke Surgery is a participating practice in a local IT System Pilot with two other local practices, Kennet Surgery based at 30 Cholmeley Road and Westwood Road Surgery based in Tilehurst, Reading to offer enhanced access appointments across our joint populations. The new IT System will enable our staff to book "out of hours" primary care appointments across the three venues. All participating clinicians (GPs, Prescribing Nurses and Pharmacists and Practice Nurses) will be able to access (with the individual patient's consent) their clinical record and update it in real time. Currently  shared appointments are largely for the extended access period, in time it is hoped the special interests of clinicians within the 3 participating practices can be exploited to the benefit of all patients. E.g. In-house Ultra sound currently only available to our own patients would be made available to patients at the other surgeries. For the latest appointment information as the service rolls out please speak to our receptionists. Bookable appointments will be available Thursday evenings and early Friday mornings as previously, with the addition of increased Saturday morning Access.

Practices within the South Reading Alliance are actively involved in driving forward the GP 5 year forward view with neighbouring practices of the Central Cluster,  actively involved our practices in two pilots locally to embrace the principles of this NHS England Scheme to develop Primary Care Services moving forwards.
